Location: Fully Remote - Sacramento, CA (Western U.S. territory coverage)

Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 base + performance bonus, flexible/un-capped

Industry: Environmental Engineering, Water/Wastewater, Capital Equipment Sales

The Opportunity

Are you a strategic business builder who thrives on turning vision into measurable growth?

This is an opportunity to lead the Western U.S. region for a rapidly evolving water technology company that is redefining how decentralized and reuse systems are delivered. You will take ownership of a critical growth market, expanding sales of modular wastewater and reuse systems that protect communities, empower private utilities, and drive sustainable infrastructure.

You’ll join a leadership team that values initiative, accountability, and results — where decisions are made quickly, wins are celebrated publicly, and every new project contributes directly to environmental impact.

Why This Role Is Compelling

  • Growth & Autonomy: You will shape and execute a strategic plan to build a multimillion dollar regional business, supported by national leadership that gives you real decision-making latitude.
  • Strategic Transformation: The company is shifting from a traditional contractor model to a product-driven, aftermarket-focused organization. You’ll help build the commercial foundation for that shift in the West.
  • Visible Impact: This is a pivotal role — success here directly drives company-wide growth and helps modernize decentralized water management across the Western U.S.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead regional sales and business development efforts for engineered water, wastewater, and reuse systems across the Western U.S.
  • Build and manage a rep network for municipal sales while cultivating direct relationships with private utilities, developers, and industrial clients.
  • Partner with engineering firms, general contractors, and system integrators to drive long-cycle municipal sales and short-cycle private utility opportunities.
  • Deliver clear, data-driven regional performance reports (pipeline, NPS, competitor insights).
  • Represent a differentiated product portfolio — including modular MBR and packaged systems known for the lowest lifecycle cost in their class.
  • Listen first, solve second — helping clients articulate their pain points and shape the right technical and commercial solutions.

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in water/wastewater, environmental systems, or capital equipment sales.
  • Proven success driving both strategic and tactical business growth — not just executing leads, but creating them.
  • Deep relationships within municipal, utility, or developer markets; ability to leverage engineering and GC networks.
  • A consultative selling style — strong listener, strong closer, and disciplined in pipeline management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related technical field preferred.
  • Willingness to travel regionally (approximately 50–60%).

Earnings & Rewards

  • Base Salary: $150,000 – $200,000
  • Bonus Potential: 30%–70% of base (uncapped, performance-based)
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, paid holidays, and vehicle/cell allowance.

Culture & Leadership

You’ll report directly to a commercially focused executive leader who values strategic thinking, clear accountability, and measurable progress. The organization’s culture is entrepreneurial yet disciplined — balancing autonomy with high standards of execution.

Every member of the leadership team is personally invested in your success. Weekly check-ins, transparent metrics, and a collaborative, no-politics environment define the team dynamic.

Who Thrives Here

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Enjoys building something from the ground up.
  • Can blend high-level strategy with hands-on execution.
  • Takes pride in solving real-world infrastructure challenges that have lasting environmental impact.
  • Thrives on independence, accountability, and the satisfaction of seeing projects come to life.
