Electrical Designer

Position Overview

A growing engineering and manufacturing organization serving the water and environmental infrastructure market is seeking an Electrical Designer to support the development and delivery of engineered treatment and infrastructure systems. This position will be responsible for preparing electrical design documentation, reviewing customer submittal materials, developing bills of material, supporting equipment specifications, and coordinating closely with mechanical engineering and other internal teams.

The Electrical Designer will contribute to projects from design development through manufacturing and customer delivery. The role offers an opportunity to apply electrical design expertise in a practical engineering environment where accuracy, communication, and responsiveness directly influence project execution and customer outcomes.

Professional Responsibility and Scope

The Electrical Designer will prepare and review electrical drawings and technical documentation required for customer approval and project execution. Responsibilities include developing and releasing drawings, creating part information for specialized applications, preparing bills of material for panel assemblies, and contributing electrical content to operation and maintenance documentation.

The position will also support equipment specification compliance, engineering change processes, vendor component research, and pricing activities. Success in the role requires effective coordination with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, customer service, sales, customers, and other stakeholders. The position serves primarily internal teams while also providing technical support to external customers when needed.

Location and Lifestyle Context

This position is based onsite in the Midwest. The work environment is primarily office-based, with occasional exposure to operating environments where factors such as noise, dust, temperature variation, odors, or industrial chemicals may be present.

Compensation

The anticipated compensation range is $25/hr to $40/hr, with the opportunity to participate in incentive compensation where applicable.
