Position Overview
Hunter Crown is conducting a search for a Field Service Technician supporting engineered equipment and infrastructure systems throughout a regional customer base. This is a remote position covering the South Central US region and is designed for a technically capable service professional who enjoys hands-on mechanical and electrical work, direct customer interaction, and significant independence in the field. The technician will support equipment installation, commissioning, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and technical support at customer facilities.
Professional Responsibility and Scope
This position carries responsibility for diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls-related issues involving rotating equipment and associated systems. The technician will perform equipment startups, inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, assembly, and field commissioning while evaluating equipment condition and identifying probable causes of failure. The role requires the ability to interpret engineering drawings, process documentation, wiring diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and control narratives in order to safely complete service work and provide technically sound recommendations.
The technician will also work with control and measurement instrumentation, variable frequency drives, industrial communications, electrical terminations, pneumatic connections, and fluid connections. Experience troubleshooting industrial networks and programmable control systems is valuable. Strong diagnostic judgment is important, as the technician will frequently be expected to evaluate equipment performance, determine the source of operating problems, and recommend appropriate corrective action.
Customer interaction is a significant part of the position. The technician will discuss service requirements, explain findings, provide status updates, recommend service options, and identify potential future equipment needs. Accurate documentation is expected following each assignment, including service reports, repair findings, equipment condition, materials used, commissioning information, and recommendations. The role may also provide technical training to customer personnel and support engineering teams with equipment modifications, facility improvements, and operational safety reviews.

Service assignments are performed primarily at customer facilities, with occasional work at company service locations. Travel is typically M-Th/F.
