An established environmental infrastructure organization is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to support growth across municipal wastewater treatment markets within North America. This role is ideal for a technically grounded commercial professional who thrives in specification driven sales environments and enjoys working closely with consulting engineers, municipalities, contractors, and manufacturer representatives. The position focuses on expanding regional market share for engineered treatment solutions through early project engagement, technical consultation, and long term relationship development. The individual will serve as both a strategic sales leader and technical resource across a defined territory.


Professional Responsibility and Scope

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for managing and growing sales activity within an assigned geographic region while supporting an established manufacturer representative network. The role requires developing strong relationships with municipal utility leaders, consulting engineers, contractors, and operational stakeholders to identify project opportunities and influence specifications early in the project lifecycle.


Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and developing manufacturer representative relationships across the territory
  • Driving project opportunities from early planning stages through procurement and final execution
  • Delivering technical presentations and application guidance for engineered treatment systems
  • Managing sales forecasts, pipeline visibility, and project tracking through CRM systems
  • Coordinating closely with internal engineering and application support teams
  • Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and regional growth opportunities
  • Supporting installation activities and startup coordination when required
  • Developing strategic territory growth plans aligned with long term market expansion

This role combines technical consultation, relationship management, forecasting discipline, and commercial execution within a highly collaborative environment.


Location and Lifestyle Context

The position offers flexibility for candidates located within the United States, with regional alignment determined by market coverage and candidate experience. Travel is expected throughout the assigned territory, including customer meetings, project site visits, representative coordination, and industry engagement activities.

Travel requirements are estimated at approximately thirty to fifty percent depending on territory assignment and project activity.

Compensation

Total compensation includes a base salary ranging from approximately $90,000 to $145,000 depending on experience, technical background, and territory alignment. Performance based incentives provide total first year earning potential ranging from approximately $155,000 to $210,000.

MUST HAVES

Candidates considered for this opportunity should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Minimum of five years of technical sales experience within municipal wastewater or environmental infrastructure markets
  • Strong understanding of municipal wastewater treatment processes and engineered treatment systems
  • Experience supporting specification driven sales cycles involving consulting engineers and municipalities
  • Prior experience working with or managing manufacturer representative networks
  • Ability to confidently discuss technical applications and respond to customer questions in real time
  • Experience utilizing CRM systems for forecasting, opportunity tracking, and pipeline management
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to travel throughout assigned territory as required



Preferred experience includes familiarity with biological treatment systems, aeration technologies, oxidation ditch applications, sequencing batch reactor systems, or related municipal treatment processes.
