In this role, you’ll collaborate with design, manufacturing, and project management teams to bring complex mechanical systems from concept to completion. You’ll be hands-on in every stage from calculations, design, submittals, fabrication reviews, and field coordination, while contributing to an organization known for quality, integrity, and engineering excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Review and interpret project plans and specifications to ensure full technical compliance.
- Perform detailed mechanical and structural calculations and prepare supporting technical reports.
- Develop and review 3D and 2D designs and fabrication drawings, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.
- Select and specify components such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, and drives based on design criteria.
- Coordinate with internal and external engineers to validate designs and obtain certifications when needed.
- Prepare comprehensive submittal packages and lead design reviews with internal stakeholders.
- Provide technical support to fabrication and field teams during build, installation, and commissioning.
- Conduct site visits for field measurements, troubleshooting, and installation support.
- Ensure projects meet established schedules, budgets, and quality objectives.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent discipline).

5–10+ years of experience in the design of mechanical equipment, weldments, and assemblies.

5–10+ years of experience using SolidWorks for 3D modeling and AutoCAD for 2D detailing.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and structural engineering principles.
- Familiarity with power transmission systems including motors, gearboxes, and shafts.
- Proficiency with engineering calculations and technical documentation.
- Effective communication and organizational skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously with attention to detail and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with structural design and analysis software such as RISA or Tekla.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes including welding, machining, bending, and assembly.
- Background in municipal water, wastewater, or industrial process systems.
- Exposure to FEA and CFD applications.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or eligibility for registration.
