Job Title: Director of Engineering

Division: Environmental & Process Solutions

Reports to: Vice President, Division Operations

Experience Required: 10+ years in engineering or technical leadership roles

Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Salary: $135,000–$175,000 + 15% bonus

What You Will Do

  • Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams, fostering a cohesive, high-performing culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a key member of the leadership team, providing strategic guidance and tactical support across projects and divisions.
  • Oversee project execution from planning through completion, ensuring milestones are met on time, on budget, and with high-quality deliverables.
  • Facilitate structured performance rhythms, including team huddles, one-on-one coaching, and cross-functional meetings to maintain communication and momentum.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex mechanical, structural, and process challenges.
  • Manage scheduling, resourcing, and workload distribution across engineering and design teams to ensure efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Lead design reviews, drawing checks, and critical engineering validations to maintain accuracy, constructability, and quality standards.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and develop tools to support project-level engineering calculations and decision-making.
  • Promote cross-functional accountability and proactively resolve systemic issues to optimize project outcomes.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven leadership in managing complex engineering teams or departments.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, capable of influencing outcomes in challenging situations.
  • Expertise in engineering design processes and tools such as SolidWorks, RISA, or equivalent software.
  • Experience applying engineering principles to electro-mechanical systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
  • Experience with industrial-level controls is an advantage.


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Advanced credentials such as PMP, PE, or MBA are a plus.
