Job Title: Project Superintendent – Water & Wastewater Treatment Facility Construction

Our client is a premier general contractor specializing in water and wastewater treatment facilities. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, we deliver high-quality, sustainable infrastructure supporting public health and environmental stewardship. We are seeking a seasoned Superintendent to lead field operations for one or more projects in and around Houston, Texas.

Position Overview

The Superintendent oversees field operations for water and wastewater treatment plant projects. This leadership role ensures projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in self-performance of heavy civil construction and a proactive, team-oriented approach.

Growth & Mentorship Pathway: This position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced superintendent coming from a smaller firm who has successfully managed projects in the $1 million to $10 million range and is looking to step up to larger municipal and industrial infrastructure contracts valued between $10 million and $20 million. To ensure a smooth transition, support your integration, and familiarize you with our specific project workflows, you will likely share a job site with an experienced senior team member for the first 6 months to 1 year.

Key Responsibilities

• Field Leadership: Provide overall direction to project foreman and field teams across your project.  Use existing contacts to find and hire skilled crews for performance of work.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors for seamless execution.
• Safety Enforcement: Maintain strict OSHA compliance and job site environmental regulations.
• Project Oversight: Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Quality Control: Conduct regular QA/QC inspections, coordinate 3rd party testing, safety inspections, and progress meetings.
• Team Development: Mentor field staff to foster accountability and operational excellence.
• Client Relations: Serve as primary contact for field-related issues and client coordination.

Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years in heavy civil construction, Must Have Wastewater Treatment Facility experience with a contractor that typically self-performs a majority of their project.
• Leadership: 5+ years in a superintendent or general superintendent role for a self-performing contractor.
• Expertise: Extensive background in water and wastewater treatment plant construction.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Treatment Facility earthwork, underground utilities, concrete structures, mechanical installations, and site logistics.
• Software Skills: Email and Daily/Jobsite Photo Application 
• Communication: Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
