Position Overview

An established manufacturer of engineered equipment and infrastructure solutions is seeking to hire a Regional Sales Manager focused on industrial markets. This remote position will be responsible for developing and expanding a multistate territory in the Midwest area while building relationships with industrial end users, engineering firms, equipment manufacturers, and other organizations involved in equipment specification and purchasing decisions.

The Regional Sales Manager will serve as a key commercial resource for customers evaluating engineered air and gas handling solutions across a variety of essential industrial applications. The position combines strategic account development, technical sales, new business generation, and long-term customer relationship management. It is well suited for an experienced industrial sales professional who enjoys operating independently while having access to engineering, project management, technical, and customer support resources.

Professional Responsibility and Scope

This individual will have meaningful ownership of commercial development throughout the Midwest territory. Responsibilities include identifying prospective customers and applications, expanding relationships within existing accounts, and developing an understanding of the technical and commercial factors that influence equipment selection.

The Regional Sales Manager will work directly with end users, engineering organizations, and equipment manufacturers to understand operating requirements and help customers evaluate appropriate engineered solutions. This includes interpreting specifications, supporting equipment selection, discussing applicable standards, preparing quotations and bid submissions, and helping customers evaluate lifecycle economics.

The position also carries responsibility for developing account strategies and maintaining visibility into future demand. The successful candidate will manage forecasts, sales projections, opportunity strategies, and account activity through the company CRM platform. Collaboration with internal technical and commercial specialists will be important when pursuing complex projects, modernization opportunities, equipment upgrades, and aftermarket business.

Customer presentations, technical education, industry events, and selected trade shows will provide additional opportunities to develop market relationships and increase territory visibility.

Location and Lifestyle Context

This is a remote position serving an established Midwest territory. The Regional Sales Manager will work from a home-based environment and travel throughout the region to meet customers, develop new relationships, support projects, and pursue commercial opportunities.

The structure provides substantial independence and flexibility for an experienced sales professional who is comfortable managing a territory without daily office supervision. Travel is an important component of the position, making the opportunity particularly appropriate for someone who enjoys direct customer interaction and balancing time in the field with focused home office work.

Long-Term Professional Growth

This role provides an opportunity to deepen expertise at the intersection of industrial equipment, engineered systems, and consultative technical selling. Exposure to end users, engineering organizations, equipment manufacturers, project teams, and technical specialists creates a broad view of how complex industrial projects move from initial concept through equipment selection and execution.

A successful Regional Sales Manager can build increasingly strategic relationships within major accounts while expanding expertise across applications, aftermarket opportunities, equipment modernization, and complex project development. The position offers significant ownership of territory performance and an opportunity to become a trusted commercial and technical resource within the market.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this opportunity is $115,000 to $130,000, depending on experience and qualifications. The overall compensation package also includes performance-based incentive opportunities, plus a profit-sharing bonus.

The employer provides a comprehensive benefits program that includes substantial employer support for health coverage, 401k match, tuition reimbursement, and a monthly car allowance. Specific plan details will be discussed during the interview process.

Team Environment and Leadership Approach

The Regional Sales Manager will operate with considerable autonomy while remaining closely connected to a broader commercial and technical organization. Success requires someone who can independently prioritize customer activity while knowing when to engage engineering, project management, technical specialists, production, and customer support resources.

The environment favors professionals who communicate well across disciplines and take ownership of customer commitments. The successful candidate should be comfortable bringing internal resources together around customer needs, maintaining visibility throughout the sales and order process, and developing credibility through responsiveness and technical understanding.

Organizational Stability and Industry Position

The employer is an established participant in the engineered equipment sector with solutions used across essential industrial and infrastructure markets. Its business serves applications where equipment performance, operating efficiency, technical support, and lifecycle economics are important purchasing considerations.

The diversity of industrial applications and combination of new equipment, project, modernization, and aftermarket opportunities provide multiple avenues for customer development. This creates a commercially substantive environment for a sales professional interested in building durable customer relationships rather than relying solely on transactional equipment sales.

Experience and Qualification Summary

Qualified candidates should bring approximately five or more years of successful industrial equipment sales experience, ideally involving technically specified or engineered products. Experience selling compression, air handling, rotating equipment, pneumatic conveying equipment, or comparable industrial systems would be particularly relevant, although broader industrial equipment experience will be considered.

A bachelor's degree is preferred, with relevant professional experience considered as an alternative. Candidates should be comfortable discussing technical specifications, equipment economics, quotations, commercial terms, and basic engineering calculations with customers and internal technical teams.

The position requires strong territory management skills, comfort using CRM and standard business software, and the ability to work effectively from a remote environment. Candidates should be self-directed, responsive to customers, comfortable with regional travel, and capable of managing opportunities from initial relationship development through commercial follow-through.
