Product Engineer – Control Valves & Butterfly Valves

Location: Remote

Compensation: Starting at $100k (flexible base on experience)

We are seeking a skilled Product Engineer to play a key role in delivering high-quality engineered valve solutions for municipal water, wastewater, industrial, and fluid handling applications. In this position, you will support the full project lifecycle—from providing accurate and timely technical responses to customer specifications and bid documents to leading product design, application engineering, and technical execution for control valves, butterfly valves, and related flow control equipment.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide detailed technical support for customer inquiries, specifications, RFQs, and RFPs, including valve selection, sizing, material recommendations, and compliance review.
  • Review project specifications and validate bills of materials (BOMs) to ensure accurate product configuration and application suitability.
  • Lead engineering deliverables from concept through detailed design, drawing release, and production support for valve and actuator assemblies.
  • Collaborate with sales, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless project execution and on-time delivery.
  • Apply industry standards such as AWWA, API, MSS, ASME, and ISO to develop reliable, manufacturable valve solutions.
  • Support product testing, performance evaluations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of engineering documentation, product specifications, installation guidelines, and technical manuals.
  • Contribute to new product development and product enhancement projects focused on flow control and valve technologies.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in product engineering, design engineering, application engineering, or valve engineering within the flow control, water/wastewater, industrial, or process industries.
  • Familiarity with control valves, butterfly valves, actuators, valve automation, or related piping system components.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) and PLM/ERP systems.
  • Experience with BOM development, specification review, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, valve sizing principles, pressure drop calculations, materials selection, and piping system design.
  • Knowledge of AWWA, API, MSS-SP, ASME, or other applicable valve industry standards is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Why This Role:

  • Work on technically challenging projects involving critical flow control infrastructure and process applications.
  • Join a collaborative team focused on innovation, engineering excellence, and customer success.
  • Play a direct role in supporting essential water, wastewater, and industrial systems.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including 401(k), medical, dental, vision, HSA, and career development opportunities.
