Position Overview

A growing environmental solutions company is seeking a Project Director to lead complex project delivery operations across the United States. This individual will play a central leadership role in executing capital equipment and infrastructure projects focused on advanced water, wastewater, and environmental treatment applications, including remediation and industrial water challenges.

The Project Director will oversee the full lifecycle delivery of engineered treatment systems from initial design and procurement through fabrication, installation, commissioning, and operational turnover. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an experienced project professional who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and is motivated by meaningful environmental impact.

Professional Responsibility and Scope

The Project Director will serve as both a senior project leader and a people manager for the U.S. project delivery team. This role will oversee multidisciplinary capital projects with individual values typically ranging from $3 million to $5 million and involving structural, civil, mechanical, process, and electrical scopes.

Responsibilities include managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, procurement timelines, installation oversight, commissioning support, and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle. This individual will collaborate closely with customers, contractors, suppliers, and internal engineering, manufacturing, and field teams to ensure successful execution against technical and contractual requirements.

This leader will also implement and refine project management tools, reporting systems, and standard operating procedures to support scalability and operational consistency. Additional responsibilities include developing technical documentation, project submittal packages, operations and maintenance manuals, operator training materials, and supporting project estimating efforts.

Success in this role will be measured by milestone achievement, margin preservation, quality performance, safety outcomes, regulatory compliance, and team development.

Location and Lifestyle Context

The position is based in the southeastern Pennsylvania region, with remote work considered for the right candidate. Travel is expected at approximately 25% to 40% depending on project activity and customer needs. Travel may include visits to industrial facilities, customer sites, and active project installations across the United States.

This role offers flexibility and autonomy for a self-directed professional who can operate effectively both independently and with remote teams while maintaining strong customer-facing communication.

Long Term Professional Growth

This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact within a growing organization operating in a high-demand environmental sector. The Project Director will help shape and scale U.S. project delivery operations, influence internal systems and processes, and mentor the next generation of project management talent.

As the organization continues to expand, this role offers a pathway toward broader operational leadership and increased strategic responsibility.

Compensation

The base salary range for this opportunity is $130-155k depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to base compensation, the company may offer performance-based incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.

This role presents a compelling earnings opportunity for professionals with proven experience leading complex engineered infrastructure and treatment system projects.

Team Environment and Leadership Approach

The organization values innovation, accountability, integrity, and collaboration. The Project Director will join a mission-driven team focused on solving complex environmental and infrastructure challenges through practical engineering and operational excellence.

This role requires a leader who can mentor and develop project managers, create accountability across internal and external stakeholders, and maintain strong communication across engineering, operations, and executive leadership. The ideal candidate will balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Organizational Stability and Industry Position

The company is an emerging leader in environmental infrastructure and engineered treatment solutions, serving customers in the water, wastewater, and industrial sectors. Its solutions address critical environmental challenges driven by increasing regulatory requirements, sustainability initiatives, and infrastructure investment.

The business combines the stability of a proven technical platform with the entrepreneurial energy of a growth-stage organization expanding its footprint in North America.

Experience and Qualification Summary

The ideal candidate will bring multiple years of experience managing capital projects exceeding $2 million in value, preferably involving water treatment, wastewater treatment, or industrial process systems.

Candidates should have demonstrated experience with engineered system installations and a strong understanding of pumps, piping, controls, instrumentation, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical design documentation.

Additional qualifications include experience managing contractors and field installations, commercial building or industrial construction project management knowledge, strong technical writing and reporting skills, and familiarity with environmental and regulatory compliance requirements.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator capable of managing customer relationships, leading remote teams, and operating effectively in a dynamic and evolving environment.
