Senior Project Engineer – Industrial Wastewater Systems

Location: Hybrid | Greater Wausau, Wisconsin (Hybrid preferred; remote with periodic travel considered for the right candidate)

Salary Range: $125,000 – $150,000 annually

What You’ll Do

• Lead the design and execution of large-scale wastewater treatment and water reuse projects.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams, vendors, and clients to define scope, deliverables, and technical strategy.
• Engineer comprehensive treatment systems utilizing technologies such as:
• Anaerobic digestion
• Membrane bioreactors (MBR)
• Dissolved air flotation (DAF)
• Nutrient removal and recovery
• Biogas and energy recovery systems
• Oversee all phases of design and documentation, from feasibility and permitting to startup and commissioning.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians to elevate technical quality and team capability.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk to consistently deliver high-quality outcomes.

What You Bring

• 10+ years of experience in wastewater treatment design or process engineering.
• Demonstrated leadership managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
• In-depth knowledge of biological, chemical, and physical wastewater treatment processes.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/3D modeling, MS Office, and common project tracking tools.
• A proactive, hands-on approach and a passion for creating reliable, sustainable systems.
