About ChemREADY
ChemREADY is a growing, customer-first water treatment company headquartered in Twinsburg, Ohio. We specialize in chemical programs and technical services for cooling towers, boilers, closed loops, wastewater systems, dewatering, and related industrial applications.
We operate across a multi-state territory and are expanding our footprint in the industrial, institutional, commercial, municipal, and energy sectors. This is an opportunity to join a nimble, technically driven team where your expertise directly shapes client outcomes.
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Sales Engineer to drive growth in wastewater treatment while also supporting water treatment and water safety programs. This is a hybrid technical-sales role - you will develop new business, manage and grow existing accounts, and serve as a trusted technical resource for clients.
The ideal candidate combines strong chemistry or engineering fundamentals with a genuine talent for building relationships. You understand industrial processes, can read a system and ask the right questions, and know how to translate technical recommendations into business value for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities in wastewater, water treatment, and water safety - including industrial facilities, municipalities, food & beverage processors, and other end users with onsite treatment systems
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts across your territory
- Conduct site surveys, system audits, and water analyses to develop customized chemical programs and treatment recommendations
- Prepare and present technical proposals, pricing, and program justifications to plant managers, engineers, and procurement stakeholders
- Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting for customer systems - including cooling towers, boilers, closed loops, dewatering systems, and wastewater treatment units
- Monitor regulatory and compliance trends (discharge limits, permit requirements, DBP thresholds) and help clients maintain compliance
- Collaborate with the ChemREADY team on product selection, service scheduling, and account strategy
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and pipeline activity in CRM
- Represent ChemREADY at industry events, trade associations, and customer meetings
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in water treatment, wastewater, or a related industrial chemistry field
- Demonstrated success in a technical sales or sales engineering role - you can point to accounts you've won and grown
- Working knowledge of wastewater treatment processes: biological treatment, chemical precipitation, clarification, filtration, sludge handling, and discharge compliance
- Familiarity with water treatment applications including cooling towers, boilers, and closed loop systems
- Ability to read P&IDs, interpret water quality data, and develop technically sound treatment recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills - you can explain complex chemistry clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Self-starter with the discipline and organizational skills to manage a remote territory effectively
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the territory (estimated 10–20% overnight)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field (equivalent experience considered)
- Experience with industrial wastewater permit compliance, NPDES programs, or pretreatment regulations
- Experience selling into manufacturing, food & beverage, energy, or municipal markets
- CRM proficiency (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar)
